Introduction

Classes 9th and 10th, often referred to as high school or secondary school, form the foundational years of secondary education. Students in these grades typically range in age from 12 to 16 years old. These years are crucial as they prepare students for higher levels of education and provide a broad academic base.

1. English (Compulsory) 2 papers 150 marks
2. Urdu (Compulsory)/Geography of Pakistan 2 papers 150 marks
For Foreign Students
3. Islamic Education/Ethics (for Non-Muslims) 2 papers 100 marks
4. Pakistan Studies 2 papers 100 marks

OPTIONAL GROUPS (600 marks)
The students will choose one of the following (A), (B), (C) and (D) Groups carrying 600 marks:

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Computer Science/Technical Subject
(B) Humanities Group:
General Science, General Mathematics, Two Social Science Subjects/One Social Science
Subject and One Technical Subject
(C) Technical Group:
General Science, General Mathematics, Two Technical Subjects
(D) Matric Tech Group:
General Science, General Mathematics, Two Subjects of same trade from the list of the

Duration

The duration of the programme is two years. The FBISE conducts terminal examinations for SSC I and SSC II separately.
